Note: To protect the rights of the complainant and to ensure that information provided is obtained through legitimate means, the agency will redact the complainant's or informant's name, address, or any other identifying information. The agency will also keep the complainant's or informant's information confidential, and access to this information will be limited to those individuals with responsibility for investigating the complaint. In the event of a complaint, the agency will establish measures to protect the complainant, informant, witness, and anyone providing information during the investigation. These measures will ensure that they are not subjected to any harm, danger, or unfair treatment as a result of providing information, making a complaint, or serving as a witness. If the agency determines that a complainant or informant is at risk of harm or danger, it will take steps to protect them.
 
Furthermore, individuals receiving information as part of their official duties, particularly in handling complaints, have a responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of the information, complaints, and supporting documents provided by the complainant and the source of information. They must not disclose this information to individuals who are not directly involved, unless required by law.
